2012.11.24 SANOMAGIC Wooden Bicycle

いやあ、寒くなってきましたね。
SANOMAGICは心も設備も開放的なので(-_-;)、夏暖かく、冬は涼しいです。
マホガニースピーカーのさらなる進化と、16号機のフレーム製作、小径２号機の現状などを紹介。
変わったお客様も来る来る。
It's getting really cold, isn't it?
SANOMAGIC is openhearted and open to the air, it's warm in summer and cool in winter.
The evolution of mahogany speakers and the current status of Mahogany Bike 16 will be introduced.
And, the story of strange guests.

お、また新作があります。三脚つき弾性支持スピーカーですか。
New mahogany speakers supported by a mahogany tripod.

曲線でつながれた優雅なデザイン。中心の円柱部が、振動吸収効果をさらに高めています。
スピーカーボックスは西村由紀江さんのものと同じだけど、音はさらに凄いことに。聞く人を全て驚かせています。
The tripod has a graceful design consisting of mahogany curves.
The center column in the tripod absorbs vibration from the mahogany speaker box.

何を作っても、デザインは色っぽいねえ。
Everything Sueshiro made are glamorous.

湾曲バネを２重にし、錘となる円柱部を上下２カ所で三脚に連結して、ライフルの消音器のような振動抑制を得ている。
Mahogany plate springs are doubled, and the center column is connected to each leg at two points like a silencer of guns.

さらに、ゴムのダンパーが挟まれている。これら全ての支えにより、マホガニースピーカーボックスの全面が自由に鳴るわけですね。
In addition, rubber dumpers are inserted between upper and lower plate springs.
These elements cooperate to absorb the vibration, and all surfaces of the mahogany speaker box freely make sound.

実験的に作った杉（右）と、松（左）のスピーカー。割れを防止するため最高級の柾目材を使用。
マホガニーとは音がかなり違う！。スイッチ一つで切り替えて音の違いを楽しむことができます。
ご自分の耳で確かめてください。面白いぞ～。
Sueshiro made these speakers using other kinds of wood for experiments.
The right is cedar, and the left is pine. Sueshiro used the highest grade straight grain of these wood in order to prevent cracks.
The sounds are completely different from that of mahogany!. It's amazing!. Please try by yourself.

音源にも次の進化が。音質を最高にするため、「狂」のつくオーディオマニアの方により、新しいコンピューターを作成中。
マホガニースピーカーとの組み合わせで、地球史上最高の音質を目指すそうです。画期的な新技術が採用されるらしい。
不穏な空気が流れ始めています。乞うご期待。
The sound source will also be progressed.
New sound source computer is now being assembled by a cooperator, Mr. Sato, who is an enthusiastic (mad?) audio mania.

１６号機のフレーム製作も進んでいます。フレーム中空化の工程で、蓋を接合しているところ。
The mahogany frame of Mahogany Bike No. 16 is being made. Lids of hollow sections were bonded to the mahogany frame.

この工程は初めて見た。軽量化のために、膨大な手間をかけていることがよくわかります。
It can be understood that it take huge time for reducing the weight of the mahogany frame.

アノマロカリスを思い浮かべた。

It looks like an Anomalocaris.

ぎちぎちに締めた圧縮力は数トンにも達するでしょう。
The compressive force may reach to several tons.

接合が終わったら、これを肉厚６mmに削る。逆目を鉋が削いだら、全部作り直しという恐ろしい工程。細心の注意が必要。
After bonding the lids, the mahogany frame will be shaved to a thickness of 6mm.
"The shaving process is very difficult because I cannot see the thickness of the wall", Sueshiro says.

接合部の末端。蓋ももちろんマホガニー積層板。
An end of jointed parts. The lid is of course made of a laminated mahogany plate.

今日点検に来ていた小径車２号機。ぴかぴかでまぶしい感じ。
Mahogany Mini Wheel Road MWR-2 came to SANOMAGIC for the first inspection.　All surfaces are shinny.

オーナーKさんが既にいろいろ独自工作を加えています。かわいくて、かわいくて、仕方ないそうです。世界に１台ですからね。
The owner Mr. K has added his original handicrafts.　He really loves this bike because it is only for him.

小径車の３号機は、長命さんのものになる予定。デザインはこの２号機を踏襲。完成はいつになるのかな。
The third mini wheel road bike will be manufactured for Mr. Chomei.

Kさん作成の、小径車２号機のアンパンマン。これもマホガニー製かな?

テールランプの側面にもマホガニー板を貼っている。
The surface of a tail light is covered by mahogany thin plates by Mr. K.

クランク軸のキャップは、現在マホガニー材で作成中とのこと。
Mr. K is now making mahogany end caps for the crank shaft.

マホガニー中空スポークのエアロホイールも、軽快に走っています。
The mahogany hollow aero wheel has been going well.

１６号機のハンドル。角張った状態での写真は初めてだね。長命さんは、このごつごつした状態で取り付けてもいい感じだなと感想。
The handle bar for Mahogany Bike No. 16 is waiting for shaving.

木造加工品の一つの極北でしょう。
片側で３２枚、両側で６４枚のマホガニー薄板を積層、積層後に内部を、ステムとブレーキレバー装着部を除いて、中空化して再接合してある。
This may be an ultimate woodworks.
Sueshiro laminated 36 mahogany thin plates for each side (total 64 plates), and made cavities in the handle except for stem part and brake-lever attachment portions.

ヘッドチューブになるU字部材。厚さ方向に人が乗ってもびくともしない。マホガニー積層体ならでは。
A U-shaped mahogany part for a head tube.

トトロ号のオーナーが遊びに来ていた。今度、マリン合板を使って、この船を自作するとのこと。
全長はたった5m。トトロ号は宮崎へ移動し、この船は東京湾で遊ぶためとのこと。優雅ですな。
The owner of yacht TOTORO came to SANOMAGIC.
He showed us a small paper-crafted ship model, and said he will make this ship at a length of 5.0m by himself.

内部の構造。意外と簡単に作れるのだそうです。ここに来る人は、皆さん凄い。
He said this ship can be made by marine plywood easier than expected from its appearance.

SANOMAGICの新兵器。超精密鉋の最新版。
いままでは0.4mm×幅12cmまでしか削れなかったものが、0.3mm×幅24cmまで削れるようになるとか。積層体の強度にもよい影響がありそうですね。
This is new weapon in SANOMAGIC.　The latest version of superprecision plane.
Sueshiro said this machine can produce mahogany plates of 0.3mm*240mm. Old one can only produce 0.4mm*120mm.

とても高価な機械だそうです。かみさんに怒られた、らしい。
Sueshiro said it is a very expensive machine, and said with a laugh he was scolded by his wife.

今日は女性訪問者が多い。この方は、特殊造形のお仕事をしているそうです。
アルバムを見せていただきましたが、MIPみたいで凄かった。写真撮っとけばよかった。
SANOMAGIC has female guests today. This lady is engaged in special plastic arts.

自作の木造はさみも披露してくれました。
She showed us wooden scissors she made by herself.

ちゃんと切れるそうです。
The wooden scissors have really cut a paper

ほれ、このとおり。

柄には手の込んだ彫刻が施されている。
オーディオマニアの方といい、Kさんといい、トトロ号オーナーといい、この特殊造形の方といい、創作エネルギーが溢れちゃってますね。
末四郎の創造オーラが皆さんを呼び寄せているようです。
The handles are covered with arabesque sculpture.
The audiophile, Mr. K, the owner of TOTORO, and this lady, everybody are full of creative urge.
These people may have been drawn by the creative aura of Sueshiro.

これは鋏のケース。綺麗なので写真を撮らせてもらう。世界の切手を埋め込んだもの。
This is a case with world stamps for the scissors.

特殊造形さんが、小径２号車に試乗。うまく乗れるかな。
The lady tried to ride MWR-2.

本日の女性客は、皆さん特にこのランチボートでご機嫌でした。
Female guests enjoyed getting on the launch boat.

お客さんの一人は、実家が由緒ある神社で、実家の古い賽銭箱にこれと似たネジ組があったとのこと。末四郎もその由来に興味津々。
Other female guest is a daughter in a historic temple, and she said she remember the pattern of Neji-kumiki shown in this picture.
Sueshiro got interested in this story because it might suggest the birthplace of the Neji-kumiki.

ちょっと寒いSANOMAGICですが、ホットな議論が弾みます。
Hot discussions continue though it is cold in SANOMAGIC.
