2013.1.20 SANOMAGIC Wooden Bicycle

2013年1月19，20日に開催された2013ハンドメイドバイシクル展を見てきました。
I went to see 2013 Handmade Bicycle Exhibition held on January 19 and 20, 2013.

実は直前に風邪で寝込み、病み上がり状態で取材へ。ぼうっとした頭に上天気もまぶしいばかり。
Because I have just recovered from my cold, the sunlight is too blinding.

科学技術館。交通の便も良いし、子供の頃（40年くらい前？）からよく来ていました。最近はSANOMAGIC取材が主ですな。
でも入り口の科学売店には今でも気を引かれます。
The Science Museum in Tokyo has a good public transport. I sometimes came here when I was child (about 40 years ago?).
In these few years, I came here only to watch the Handmade Bicycle Exhibition. But, I am still attracted by the science goods shop at the entrance.

1月13日に突如降り積もった雪がまだ東京には残っている。
Snow fallen suddenly on January 13 still remains thick in Tokyo.

科学技術館の1階で開かれているハンドメイドバイシクル展。日曜日の午前中なのでそれほど混んでいないね。
The Handmade Bicycle Exhibition is held on the first floor of the Science Museum. The hall is not crowded because it is Sunday morning.

SANOMAGICブースは、入り口を入ってすぐのところでした。
The SANOMAGIC booth was near the center of the first hall.

熱心に写真をとっている方もいました。最近は、マホガニーバイクの認知度も上がり、「初めて知ってびっくり」という感じの初々しいお客様が減ったような。
だいたい、この会場に来るのは、かなりマニアックな方？S
Many guests were taking pictures of mahogany bikes. Recently the name recognition of mahogany bikes went up through the various media.

今回の展示は、奥がT3、手前が小径車MWR-T1です。T3は初公開となります。
本来はマホガニーエアロホイールを装着するのですが、ホイールの完成が遅れたため、60mmディープマホガニーリムを装着している。
700c mahogany bike T3 and mini wheel road MWR-T1 are being exhibited. The front wheel of T3 is equipped with a 60mm mahogany deep rim.

各ショップと懇意の来場者が多いようです。何となく、この会の宣伝不足も感じちゃいます。
Not a few guests seem to come here to say hello to his favorite shop.

サイクルモードとどう違うのか、展示会の趣旨をもっと明確にすべきでは…なんて。
In order to invite more guests to this exhibition, I think it is necessary to widely publicize the purpose of this exhibition.

マホガニーバイクの写真を撮っていく人が多いのですが、今日は会場の熱気が乏しいため、交流が生まれにくい感じもする。
Most of guests are silent due to the lack of feverish atmosphere of the hall.

SANOMAGIC技術の集大成であるT3。
T3 is compilation of SANOMAGIC technology.

マホガニーフレームにもかなりの形状進化が見られます。
Considerable shape evolution can be seen in the mahogany frame.

ヘッドチューブ周りがかなり変わりました。ヘッドチューブから上の木造率がアップ。トップチューブとダウンチューブの境のリブが後方にさらに延びた。
The head tube periphery changed considerably. A wooden rate in parts above the head tube improved. A rib behind the head tube elongated backward.

このT3は米国ハンドメイドバイシクルショーでの試乗も考慮し、前輪周りの支持強度を全体的にアップしている。
Considering test ride in the NAHBS, the front wheel periphery was strengthened.

その一方、トップチューブからシートステーへ連なる部分が波打つようにうねっている。
The part ranging from the top tube to the seat stay waves.

これは、米国出張用に購入したipad.　写真とビデオを満載してハンドメイドバイシクルショーに乗りこみます。
Sueshiro bought an ipad for explanation in the NAHBS. It stores a lot of photographs and videos of SANOMAGIC products.

小径車2号機のオーナーKさんのアイデアで、ブレーキシューの取り付けネジの穴をマホガニープラグで塞いだ。いい感じですな。
Holes of screws were covered by mahogany plugs according to the suggestion of Mr. K, the owner of MWR-2.

マホガニーホイールについての質問に答える末四郎。
Sueshiro is answering to guest's questions.

2013年1月27日、末四郎から届いた写真。とうとうT3に700cマホガニーエアロホイールが搭載されました！
January 27, 2013, a 700c mahogany aero wheel was at last installed in T3.

十字架スポークが迫力あるね～。マホガニーホイールもとうとうここまで来ました（遠い目）。
末四郎が試乗したところ、これまで経験したことのない、滑らかな乗り心地、出来は上々だそうです。あ～早く試乗してみたい！
The cross mahogany spokes are powerful. Mahogany wheels came this far.
According to Sueshiro's test ride, it provides a riding feel smoother than ever experienced.
